Jeremy D. Miller served a remarkable 20-year career as a medic in the Air Force. There he served in many capacities as a medic, one as an instructor for the elite special forces career field, Pararescue, a role that involved training some of the most skilled and courageous individuals in the military. Later he served as Emergency Department shift leader of a Combat Hospital in Balad, Iraq. This hospital was the focal point for all major trauma in the country and is where all American injured would go before medical evacuation. Their expertise was further recognized when they were deployed with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to Afghanistan, where they provided critical medical support in high-stakes environments. He was the senior enlisted leader for multiple teams that included Navy, Army, and Air Force medical assets.

As the EMS Director for the Air Force, Jeremy was responsible for overseeing the medical readiness, operations, and training of personnel, ensuring that the highest standards of care were maintained across the service.

Civilian Career and Leadership

After their military service, He transitioned into civilian roles, continuing to make significant contributions to the EMS community. Jeremy served as an EMS captain at a local Fire Department, where they applied their military experience to improve operational efficiency and response times.

In his role as Chief Certification Officer for the National Registry of EMTs, Jeremy played a crucial part in setting the standards for EMS certification nationwide. Their work ensured that EMTs across the country were properly trained and equipped to provide life-saving care.

Jeremy Miller also served on the Board of Directors for the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE), where they helped to shape the future of EMS education and training. Their involvement with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) included participation in multiple committees, further demonstrating their commitment to advancing the profession.

Current Role and Impact

In his current position as Assistant Chief of EMS in Central Ohio, Jeremy continues to lead with the same dedication and passion that has defined their entire career. They oversee the daily operations of the EMS service, ensuring that the team is always prepared to respond to emergencies and provide the highest level of care to the community.
