Stephen Stephens is the CEO and paramedic for Uvalde Emergency Medical Services. Stephen began his career in 1985 as a volunteer EMT and worked for several different EMS agencies before landing in Uvalde in 2002. Stephen currently serves as the President for the Texas Ambulance Association, as well as, serving on the TAA Legislative and Education committee. Stephen was awarded the Texas Ambulance Association Joe B. Brown Memorial Award in 2023. Stephen has also served on various local and Texas EMS committees during his career. As an advocate for EMS, Stephen has been involved in efforts to improve reimbursements for EMS providers during Texas Legislative sessions. Stephen enjoys spending time with his family and spoiling his grandkids, spending time on the gulf coast, and fishing. During the fall many hours are spent traveling to Texas Tech Red Raider football games
