Diahan Underwood is the Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Nursing Officer for Priority Ambulance, the nation’s second-largest ambulance provider. She oversees national compliance, quality, and nursing programs across 19 brands in 13 states and chairs the Priority Ambulance Diversion Task Force, leading systemwide efforts to detect and prevent controlled-substance diversion in EMS.

With more than 25 years of clinical and operational leadership, Diahan is a recognized expert on DEA regulations, diversion prevention, and patient safety. She frequently partners with regulators, law-enforcement agencies, and industry organizations to strengthen accountability and compliance standards in prehospital care.

Diahan’s background includes serving as Chief Flight Nurse and MICU Director for Central EMS and Central Air Ambulance, as well as clinical roles at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Northside Hospital Cherokee, and Cherokee County EMS. She is an experienced educator and advisor, serving on the Georgia State Medical Assessment Team Advisory Board, teaching for the Central EMS Critical Care Academy, and previously instructing at North Metro Technical College.

A sought-after national speaker, she has presented on EMS drug diversion, tampering, and compliance at EMS World Expo, the American Ambulance Association Annual Conference, NADDI national and chapter meetings, and multiple law-enforcement training programs. She holds numerous clinical certifications and instructor credentials and currently serves as President of the Tennessee Board of Directors for the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators.
